His father Lewis Meltzer, was one of the original members of the Writers Guide West and a highly successful screenwriter in early Hollywood. Working on such movies as "Golden Boy", "Autumn Leaves", "Hans Christian Anderson", "The Jazz Singer" and "Man with the Golden Arm." The Lewis Meltzer Scholarship Award is given in his memory. His mother was a former beauty queen (Miss Alabama) and contract actress in early Hollywood. Educated at U.C.L.A, Valley Jr. College and CAL State Northridge. Joshua has been a Prop Master in the movie and T.V. industry since 1977. He has worked on such shows as: "Quincy", "Rockford Files", "Hart to Hart", "Who's the Boss", "Night Court", "Growing Pains", "Dinosaurs", "Just the Ten of Us", "Partners", "Arliss", "Suddenly Susan" , "What I Like About You", "Nikki", plus many movies of the week and commercials. He recently completed another season of the WB show "What I Like About You", and is currently working on the TV series "RENO 911". Josh has been active in the Los Angeles theater most of his life. First as a child actor, then during his teen and young adult years as the Technical Director for a number of the small theaters in Los Angeles. He went back and forth from being a technician and an actor for years, but Joshua has found that his true love is directing and being a mentor to today's youth. |
